From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot including angels, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of characters who will separate from the main group to begin their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team features Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might seem mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, wants revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with the region and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could help the party reach locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to head to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
Based on episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Questers and Strategists parties.
