Fresh Information Emerge About the Location of the Reiner Couple's Remains

Recent details have emerged concerning the shocking passing of esteemed director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

A Discovery

According to a report quoting a family associate, a massage therapist scheduled for an appointment first raised the alarm after not being able to enter the house. The therapist then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.

Upon entering the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Her roommate who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Afterward, paramedics found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Developments

Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently being held and is ineligible for bail.

Disputed Reports

The anonymous source questioned several earlier details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that juncture.

Furthermore refuted published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement includes accounts of alleged "unstable" conduct by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. Although the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they said that reports of a "heated argument" between the two were inaccurate.

Investigation Details

Per law enforcement sources, the coroner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some media reports noted the condition of their bodies implied they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the scene. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not received medical clearance and would not be present until no sooner than Wednesday.
