National Guard Mobilized Before Coast-to-Coast Anti-Monarchy Rallies
Conservative governors in numerous US states have positioned National Guard troops on standby ahead of massive protests challenging Donald Trump and his policies.
Demonstration Size and Organization
Coordinators of the "Anti-Authoritarian" campaign announced that events are arranged at over 2,500 locations throughout the nation.
As per rally leaders, the prior Anti-Monarchy event in June drew more than five million participants protesting Trump's political direction.
Local Responses
Governors in the Lone Star State and the Old Dominion have officially activated their local National Guard troops, though the level of defense visibility remains uncertain.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott mentioned the "organized antifa-linked demonstration" as reasoning for calling up local troops.
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin similarly directed mobilization of the commonwealth's National Guard contingent.
Ideological Responses
Demonstration leaders characterized the gatherings as resistance to Trump's "strong-arm tactics."
"The president considers his authority is unlimited," participants argue on their online platform.
"But in America, we don't have kings and we will not retreat against turmoil, dishonesty, and cruelty."
Various conservatives have termed the protests as "Unpatriotic" events.
Kansas Senator Roger Marshall allegedly commented ahead of the protests: "We must get the National Guard."
"With luck it'll be peaceful. I doubt it," he continued.
Opposition Reaction
Democratic representatives denounced the mobilization of state personnel.
Texas Democrat Gene Wu asserted: "Sending armed military personnel to suppress calm demonstrations is exactly what monarchs and tyrants do — and Greg Abbott just shown he's like them."
