Soccer Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game victorious run came to an end by Sunderland before the international hiatus, but can the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.

West Ham's sole on the road win this season came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

My son told me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have got lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home form, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
